The Texas Stars are moving on after a thrilling 5–4 double-overtime comeback win over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday night. Down 4–1 heading into the third, Texas stormed back with three unanswered goals before Cameron Hughes sealed the sweep with the game-winner at 10:46 of the second OT.
The Stars took Game 1 on the road, 4–2, then returned to Cedar Park for a 4–2 win in Game 2. Friday’s Game 3 capped off the series with the most dramatic finish yet, ending a hard-fought battle that lasted over 90 minutes.
Texas now advances to the Central Division Finals, where they’ll face the winner of the Rockford-Milwaukee series.
