With their season on the line, the Kansas City Mavericks delivered a commanding 5–2 win over the Toledo Walleye to stay alive in the Central Division Final and force a decisive Game 5.

Kansas City wasted no time setting the tone. Forward Casey Carreau opened the scoring with just 23 seconds left in the first period, finishing off a crisp setup from Cade Borchardt and Justin MacPherson. The Mavericks kept the pressure on early in the second, when Luke Loheit made it 2–0 off a rebound chance assisted by Jimmy Glynn and Nolan Sullivan.

Toledo got on the board midway through the second with a goal from Cam Morrison, but Kansas City remained in control.

Landon McCallum extended the lead to 3–1 early in the third, capitalizing on a feed from Carreau and MacPherson. Moments later, Billy Moskal found the back of the net to make it 4–1. The Walleye responded once more with a goal from Max Andreev, but Carreau helped seal the deal with an assist on Kansas City’s fifth goal of the night, securing his three-point performance.

Kansas City’s discipline and depth proved key in a game full of penalties on both sides. While neither team dominated on the power play, the Mavericks maintained structure and capitalized on five-on-five opportunities to keep Toledo chasing the pace.

After dropping the first two games of the series, Kansas City’s win keeps their postseason hopes alive and sets the stage for a winner-takes-all Game 5.
