Moyle’s OT Goal Seals Walleye’s Win Over Thunder

The Toledo Walleye faced off against the Wichita Thunder in an intense home matchup at Huntington Center. The first period saw relentless action, with both teams battling through 17 shots on goal and over 18 minutes of play before the Walleye struck first. #21 Carson Bantle, assisted by #67 Mitchell Lewandowski and #28 Brandon Kruse, found the back of the net, giving Toledo a 1-0 lead to close out the period.

The second period followed a similar pace, but this time, the Thunder answered back. Nearly 10 minutes in, #12 Peter Bates, assisted by #22 Michal Stinil, evened the score at 1-1, setting up a thrilling final 20 minutes of regulation. The third period saw both teams lock in defensively, with limited shots on goal, forcing the game into overtime.

In OT, the Walleye came out aggressive, registering their first shot on goal just 29 seconds in. The extra period saw only five total shots—four from the Walleye—before #26 Nolan Moyle, assisted by #32 Carter Gylander, sealed the victory with the game-winning goal.

With a hard-fought 2-1 OT win, the Toledo Walleye defended home ice against the Wichita Thunder in a gritty, well-earned victory.
