With a 30 to 18 win over the Roughnecks in Week 8 the Panthers clinched a Conference Championship spot and made a statement in the process. Quarterback Danny Etling led the charge with three total touchdowns while the defense came up clutch with multiple takeaways and a game changing pick six from Keni-H Lovely.

After weeks of gritty back and forth battles Michigan looked dialed in from the opening whistle. Etling found his rhythm early moving the chains with his arm and legs. He connected with wideout Trey Quinn for a first quarter score then added a rushing touchdown just before halftime to give the Panthers a 17 to 6 lead.

But it was the defense that turned the tide. Early in the second half Keni-H Lovely jumped a route snagged a pick and took it all the way to the house. The pick six did not just swing momentum it put the game out of reach.

Houston tried to mount a comeback but the Panthers defense held firm forcing another turnover and shutting the door on any late game drama. Etling added one more score to seal the win and keep Michigan’s momentum rolling into the final stretch of the season.

Now sitting comfortably in a playoff spot the Panthers are not just looking to qualify they are looking to contend. With a balanced offense opportunistic defense and rising confidence Michigan is peaking at the right time.

Next up a chance to sharpen their game even further before the postseason begins. But for now mission accomplished. The Panthers are headed to the playoffs.
